Scraper conveyors

Scraper conveyors (also called redlers) are commonly used to transport loose material. Material is transported inside the trough by scrapers fixed to chain. By selecting proper size of scrapers, kinematic parameters and size of drive, it is possible to obtain optimum and small cross-section dimensions of the trough. 

Main advantages of scraper conveyors include:

• small cross-section dimensions for given throughput,
• tight transport (prevents from dusting surrounding area and protects the material from humidity),
• may operate in extreme conditions (as a scraper, under charge funnels, in higher temperatures, with highly grinding material),
• it is possible to dose material at the charge,
• it is possible to shape the conveyor line in various options (horizontal, diagonal, polygonal).
• Length of scraper conveyor may reach 40 m and depends on material type, line/path shape, throughput, chain load capacity, drive size. 

Scraper conveyors may be built as regular conveyors that transport load one way at the bottom of the trough, or as special versions, with special middle-bed and high moving links. It may transport the load partly backwards and later onwards.
